Wabi-sabi Hooded Wrap
This piece was based on the idea of "Wabi-Sabi" which is a Japanese word for beauty in the imperfection. It is the idea that things are amazing and beautiful because of their flaws not inspire of them.
So to reflect this in the art, the tree is left undone with no leaves and the cracks in it's bark. I made a custom hangtag to go with this piece as I felt the customer would need a little explanation. This piece was also paired with an origami leaf hangtag with a tiny butterfly resting on top.
“Wabi-sabi. True beauty lies in the imperfect and incomplete.”
